Rej Mack
The training module, Foundations for Full Nets, originated from successful pioneering of ecclesia multiplication in South East Asia. The course design is rooted in years of field experience, learning from failures to discover fruitful practices, and is built upon an ongoing study and application of God’s Word, particularly the book of Acts.
Vision, Purpose, and Key Features
This module addresses the necessity of reaching the remaining unreached peoples, especially Bibleless People Groups. The underlying passion, which comes from Jesus, is to see millions of new believers and thousands of new ecclesia movements established among unreached people groups (UPGs), leading to community transformation.
The course addresses “what happens next” after making available God’s Word in a UPG context. To achieve the big vision, the course equips people with the core personal and team practices required to catalyze movements of salvation and ecclesia multiplication in an unreached population segment.
The 2.5 week foundation course is anchored to certain missiological “first principles” for fruitfulness. Key questions addressed include: what should be done with new believers, how ecclesia (gathered ones/church) multiplies with few barriers, and who are the most effective people to reach a community. Local new believers are identified as the best fit because they are already contextualized. The course, therefore, equips far-culture, near-culture, and in-culture workers to find their best role.
The core training methodology uses a rigorous study of scripture, especially the book of Acts, to model and develop daily routine field skills. The emphasis is on developing the person as the primary method; activating people who are filled with the Holy Spirit and act with apostolic passion takes precedence over the mastery or accuracy of methods.
Course Content Framework
The content of “Foundations for Full Nets” is delivered with a comprehensive study of Acts, presentation case studies, and selected readings.
1. The Context: Focuses on where to go and who to reach. This includes how to use data and research, implicational thinking, contextualization principles and practices, and addressing field access issues and security.
2. The End Vision: Defines the big picture desired outcomes for the context. What does God want to do among lost people? Topics include seeing the big picture from the desired end results, backwards to now and “what needs to be done” to achieve this, along with understanding Ecclesia Movement dynamics.
3. The Path (field approach): Details the practical aspects of “what needs to be done” to catalyze the desired outcomes, learning skills and certain methods. The central feature though about “what needs to be done” is how God uses people more than certain methods. The Path also examines what are our beliefs (possibly wrong) about the harvest and our roles in the harvest? Guest trainers will also share who are seasoned and fruitful field practitioners.
The pattern used in Foundations for Full Nets involves an intensive study of the book of Acts in small group units, using a grid to identify and understand movement dynamics and “apostolic activities” that lead to Ecclesia movements. These activities include:
◦ Pray and Go
◦ Spread Good News
◦ Believe and Baptise
◦ Disciple in Groups
◦ Gather as Ecclesia (church)
◦ Multiply Persevering Leaders and Ecclesia
Foundation for Full Nets has a strong emphasis on discipling in groups as the path to multiplication and leader development, with evaluating and tracking field results, and developing action plans.
Foundations for Full Nets promises no short cuts or a quick way to results. Plan to persevere if you want results!
God uses people more than he uses certain methods, patterns or materials.
Are you one of these people?
